DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

DEI fosters better results

We harness diversity of experience, knowledge and backgrounds to better discover connections, solve problems and create impact.

DEI VALUES

Work, people and community

Diversity

We believe extraordinary work is a result of diversity. If the people building AI reflect society we will achieve more accurate systems.

Equity

We strive to 'level the playing field' of the AI community to enable equal opportunities and distribution of resources. We are an affirmative action employer.

Inclusion

We desire outcomes that ensure everyone feels safe, welcome and included. We embrace difference of race, ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, disability and religion.

BIAS

AI impacts different people differently

AI impacts people differently based upon identity. Smartphone facial recognition, for example, is the same technology that can endanger certain groups through hyper-surveillance. If the people impacted by AI aren't included in its development a just future is not possible. We embrace DEI in the development of our systems so as to pursue a more just future.

DEI PROGRAM

DEI for the AI Community

OptimalAI's DEI program promotes change from within OptimalAI and externally across our AI community.

Advocacy

To ensure DEI sustainability, we maintain strategic actions to embed DEI in our DNA

EQUITY

We have work to do when it comes to DEI

The AI community, as with Computer Science in general, has some work to do when it comes to DEI. Underrepresented groups are too often faced with challenges in their education and careers that peers in majority groups do not face. OptimalAI is committed to ensuring that people who are building AI reflect broader society.
